Hi, I’m Sari Leavitt and I live in New York City with my husband Josh and my three children, Ari, Ez and Bee.
If you are here it means you (like me) are feeling lost or overwhelmed as it relates to your child’s sleep. On our first night home from the hospital with our oldest child, we swaddled him, laid him down in his bassinet and then looked on in shock as he immediately burst into tears. After several hours of repeatedly changing his diaper (maybe he was wet!), changing his outfit (maybe he was cold!) and changing his swaddle (maybe he didn’t like that one!), we put him in the stroller and walked around our Upper West Side apartment until he fell asleep. It was at that point that my husband and I realized we had absolutely no idea what we were doing.
After months of unpredictable naps, replacing the pacifier all night long and too many rounds of rocking and squatting to get him to sleep, we hired a sleep consultant. Fascinated by the process, I dove into research and absorbed as much information as I could. I downloaded sleep guides, ordered parenting books, read blogs and educated myself on every aspect of baby sleep. Armed with more knowledge than I knew what to do with, I started helping friends get their babies to sleep and ultimately decided to take the leap and become certified as a sleep consultant.
